Understand the membership relationship

Before starting, write down why you need the service: saving, planning a business or discussing borrowing. This gives your first conversation a clear purpose.

  • Ask how a membership share differs from a deposit.
  • Ask about membership rules, communications and participation in decisions.
  • Ask what happens if you wish to leave membership or change services.

This page helps you prepare. The SACCO confirms membership acceptance and its requirements.

Confirm before you travel

Request the document list for your intended service. Ask whether originals, copies or certified records are needed. Do not enter an identity number or upload an ID copy on this website.

  • Confirm where to go and when you can be assisted.
  • Ask for written requirements, applicable service costs and how they are calculated.
  • Choose your three main questions and read any document before signing.

After your conversation

Keep the information and documents you receive. If anything remains outstanding, note each requested item and when to follow up. Completing this checklist does not open an account.
